FBI Investigating Summit County Land Deals
In addition to the county having a $1.6 million deficit, a $2 million cost overrun on the public health building, and a full scale legislative audit being conducted by the state of Utah, we now learn that the FBI is conducting an investigation into land deals involving Summit County.
From the ABC 4 News article re: the FBI investigation:
ABC 4 News is now being told that the FBI has begun looking into allegations of wrongdoing in Summit County.
As ABC 4 first reported, those allegations center on reported multi-million dollar land deals involving the county.
It's not yet known whether this is a full scale FBI investigation.
But ABC 4 is being told that the FBI has now begun conducting interviews.
In fact, ABC 4 News is also being told that several people with knowledge of the Summit County situation have talked to the FBI in the last week.
The FBI is believed to be interested in Summit County land deals going back a decade.
Sounds like cleaning house at the County offices is over-due.
